The responsibility for implementing the EUROMED INVEST project will be shared by the 7 members of the MedAlliance, gathering the major networks of business organisations and economic development actors in the Euromed region. In addition to these 7 co-applicants, 79 affiliate members in 26 countries (including 7 of the 10 South ENPI countries, 3 EU candidate/potential candidate countries, 16 EU countries) will be mobilised to take part in the implementation of the majority of the project activities: they will not be simply “beneficiaries” of the programme, they will also be “actors”, delivering the majority of the activities, based on capacity and interest.

Objectives of the action

 

The ultimate goal

  • To generate sustainable and inclusive investment and trade/partnership projects.

Overall objective

  • Boost private business and investment within the Euromed area
  • Contribute to an inclusive economic development in the Mediterranean region

 

Specific objective

  • Position the Mediterranean in key global sectors for future creation of jobs and value
  • Empower Euro-Med business and investment networks to implement targeted and coordinated strategies to support the development of MSMEs in these Sectors
  • Maximise the business and investment spillovers in the South ENPI countries territories

  • Improved services for SMEs to start-up (new ventures), establish (foreigners) and develop (nationals and foreigners) within the South Mediterranean countries
  • Establishment of sustainable EU-MED Alliances to drive the growth of business within the major sectors of common interest (Agrifood, Water and New Energies, Tourism, Transport and Logistics, Cultural and Creative Industries)
  • Establish strong and lasting EU-MED business networks

 

 

Main activities

  • A set of promotion tools to market the South ENPI counrtries abroad (web portal, directories, business guides, roadshows)
  • Capacity building and experience sharing seminars, individual assistances to professionalise and reinforce investor services organisations and entrepreneurs
  • Intelligence and strategic activities (surveys, workshops) to create sector Alliances and develop common sector strategies
  • Match making events for business, clusters and private investors, and Euromed Pavillion in the major trade fairs in selected sectors
